The YMCA of Fredericton offers a wide range of aquatic group fitness classes for all ages and ability levels. You’ll experience a low-impact, full-body workout using water’s natural resistance. Please view our pool schedule to see which classes are currently being offered.
Aqua Arthritis classes provide gentle, concentrated exercise that is easy on joints while providing a great workout. This class takes place in the warm water of our Leisure Pool, providing buoyancy to reduce stress on joints and increase mobility. Join us for gentle strength and conditioning exercises, followed by relaxing stretches.

45 minute aquatic group fitness class
An instructor led group fitness class for all fitness levels. The high resistance of water and available equipment offers an excellent, full body workout while minimizing impact on joints.
Lap Pool: 4’0” – 8’5” depth │ 80 – 82 F

Aqua HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) uses the resistance of the water to provide a great full-body workout. It focuses on periods of intense exercise with shorter periods of less intense recovery movements. This program will get your heart rate up to improve your cardiovascular endurance, provide you with strength training, and help improve flexibility. The water also reduces the impact of intense exercise on joints. Join us for some high energy fun!

An instructor led group fitness class ideal for people with joint issues. We place emphasis on stretching and muscle toning to improve and retain range of motion.
Leisure Pool: 3’8” depth │ 86 – 88 F

Aqua Tone & Stretch is designed to improve mobility, strength and flexibility. You will experience a full range of exercises including many stretches for lower back, glutes, quads, calves and feet. During this 45 minute experience, the instructor participates in the water with the class, keeping everyone at the same pace as they are coached and encouraged through each phase. Your instructor will ensure your enjoyment, along with feeling refreshed for the rest of your day!

An instructor led group fitness class for those looking to make a splash by adding a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise to their fitness routine. Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss!
