Heritage Club provides donors with the opportunity to make a planned gift such as a bequest in their will, a life insurance policy or a one-time gift. It is about making a long-term investment in the Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund and being part of our mission by building today for a stronger tomorrow. When you become a Heritage Club Member, the interest earned on your investment is used by the YMCA while the principal amount remains intact in the Endowment Fund. Your gift represents guaranteed income the YMCA can count on for years to come! We currently have thirty-five Heritage Club members who have made a significant legacy gift to the Fredericton YMCA.

In practical terms, your gift may provide you with a means to avoid capital gains taxes or a way to reduce your annual taxes. For example, a bequest in a will (the most common type of deferred gift that does not affect your current income), while at the same time thinking about estate planning, could offset taxes on related capital gains.

You will feel good that your gift is being managed by a competent group of community leaders whose concern is for the future of the YMCA and the community. Each year, funds are dedicated to YMCA programs and services to assist individuals in need.

You will be invited to attend a special recognition event for Heritage Club members where you will learn specifically how your generosity is being put to use. You will be kept apprised of the YMCA’s new developments and your name will be listed as a Heritage Club member in YMCA publications and on our donor wall.
