Endowment

What is the Endowment Fund?
The Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund captures the heart of donors and provides them with meaningful opportunities to participate in the mission, vision and values of the Fredericton YMCA.
The Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund grows and invests generously donated funds. The investment income provides for the future growth and stability of the Fredericton YMCA, and to further the mission of the Fredericton YMCA.
The Fredericton YMCA is a trusted charity that ignites potential, and has provided children, youth and families with a wide range of valuable services since 1858. Whether it’s participating in a youth leadership development program, attending a support group for single parents, learning new skills at camp or taking a fitness class, individuals of all ages and backgrounds are empowered to reach their full potential.
The life-enriching capacity of our YMCA is only possible because of the many supporters whose contributions to the Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund have ensured our Y’s continued success, not only today, but for years to come.
Gifts to the Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund are held and invested. A volunteer board of directors, comprised of community-minded professionals with legal, accounting and financial management experience, provides leadership and oversight to the Endowment Fund. The board works with an external investment management firm to ensure these funds are invested and grow to build a strong future for the Fredericton YMCA.

The Wilson family has a long history of community involvement that has helped make Fredericton a better place. In August of 2019 Fredericton YMCA member, donor, volunteer and friend, David J. Wilson, passed away. The David & Elizabeth Wilson Family Foundation has donated $75,000 to the Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund. Their legacy gift supports the work of the YMCA, an organization that was such an important part of David’s life.
“My father was always a keen YMCA fitness participant as well as a YMCA community supporter. It is fitting that his support continue through this endowment; a legacy to support the work of an organization that was significantly important to my dad throughout his life and towards the health and well-being of the community.” Jodie Wilson
