I moved to Fredericton from Alberta two years ago and quickly found a sense of belonging at the YMCA. With a background as an Early Childhood Educator and while completing my Bachelor of Arts in History at St. Thomas University, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children of all ages through childcare, camp, and youth programming. I’ve also enjoyed volunteering at YMCA events such as Healthy Kids Day, Family Day, Cycle for Kids, and the Risaralda Y Coffee Fundraiser.

One of the most rewarding parts of my role has been supporting children, youth, and families through programs like Family Friend, Power Up, and Friday Night F.I.R.E. Building relationships, watching participants gain confidence, and creating welcoming spaces where everyone feels supported is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

My first impression of the YMCA was that it felt like one big family, and that feeling hasn’t changed. The YMCA is welcoming, supportive, and full of people who genuinely care about one another. More than a workplace, it feels like home – a place where meaningful connections are built every day.
