Riverview Ford Lincoln gives back with a lead gift of $5000 to the YMCA of Fredericton’s

“Help Send a Kid to Camp” Campaign.

Every child deserves the chance to play with friends, learn new skills, become independent and feel good about themselves. Summer Camp provides the opportunity for children to thrive, all while having fun! This year, as part of the YMCA of Fredericton’s “Strong Communities Campaign”, Riverview Ford Lincoln will be kicking off “Help Send a Kid to Camp Campaign” with a generous lead gift of $5000.  This allows for several children, who may not otherwise have the financial resources to attend camp this summer, experience the gift of friendship and magic that summer camp offers.

The YMCA of Fredericton is grateful for Riverview Ford Lincoln’s support of this initiative. Chris and Aneta Gauthier are proud of their family business and recognize that in order for healthy communities to flourish, families comes first. “We have 3 boys of our own, and going to camp has made a difference in their lives. We want to be able to give other kids the opportunity to have that experience.   It is especially important in the current state of our world for kids to have something fun to look forward to and if we can play a small part in enabling that, we are more than happy to participate. In February, we started a Kindness Campaign at Riverview Ford Lincoln to spread kindness across local businesses and local initiatives. We feel it is very important to be a positive member of the local community and support the community that supports us. It’s our way of giving back.”

The YMCA of Fredericton is a natural choice for this lead gift. When Chris and Aneta from Riverview Ford Lincoln consider the YMCA, they see that it is synonymous with kids and community; and it aligns with their sense of responsibility to support local initiatives. “The Y’s goals to help people become healthier in spirit, mind and body is at the forefront of everyone’s minds, including ours. Our family values and community spirit are a perfect partnership with the “Y”.

Chris and Aneta, along with their team at Riverview Ford Lincoln, encourage others to donate to this important cause.  Please consider giving a child the gift of friendship, memories and magic by experiencing YMCA of Fredericton Summer Camp.

    About the Strong Communities Campaign

At the YMCA, we believe that everyone, regardless of their financial circumstance, deserves the chance to access our programs and services. Last year, more than 1200 participants turned to us for help, looking for a safe, welcoming place to engage in activities that improve their lives and help them achieve their goals. Currently, 1 out of 5 of our members and participants rely on this financial subsidy to take part in our programs and services, like day camp, health and fitness memberships, and swimming lessons— to name a few.

Through the support of our donors, the YMCA of Fredericton provided more than $250,000 in financially assisted programs and services to children and families in need last year.

Your gift will help ensure people of all ages are healthier and more productive regardless of their financial circumstance. Every dollar donated to the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign directly supports kids and families in your community.

Please make a gift to YMCA Strong Communities today.

You can donate online at  or contact Shawna White to make a montly gift.

Launch of Ignite The Future Campaign

YMCA of Fredericton Launches $250,000 Ignite The Future Campaign FREDERICTON, NB — The YMCA of Fredericton has officially launched its Ignite the Future campaign, an exciting initiative to raise $250,000 to establish an endowed fund to ensure that no child or youth is turned away from the Fredericton YMCA. This campaign will raise funds to provide perpetual support, reaching children and youth in the Fredericton region for generations to come. The YMCA provides no-cost memberships to more than 350 children and youth who face difficult life circumstances and could benefit from belonging at the YMCA, but do not have the funds to pay for a membership. “At the YMCA, we believe in the potential of every young person,” said Darcy Delaney, President & CEO of the YMCA of Fredericton. “Each year we are seeing a steady increase in requests for help. With growing requests for support and economic uncertainty, the need is urgent. This campaign is about more than raising money—it is about removing barriers and opening doors. Every donation helps give youth a chance to learn, grow, and belong, not only today, but for generations to come.” The campaign officially launched with a community event on September 15, 2025, bringing together supporters, partners, and local leaders. A highlight of the launch was the announcement of a generous matching gift from the J.T. Clark Family Foundation. Every dollar donated until December 15 will be matched once the campaign reaches $250,000 in donations, unlocking an additional $250,000 and doubling the impact. “We are proud to support the YMCA’s efforts to strengthen the well-being of children and youth in the Fredericton region,” said Cynthia Clark, Board Member, J.T. Clark Family Foundation. "By initiating this donation matching challenge, we are encouraging others in the community to join us in investing in the future of our young people.” This campaign is being led by the Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund, which exists to ensure long-term sustainability of the YMCA and to further the mission of the Y for generations to come. “The Endowment Fund was established to ensure the YMCA’s long-term future,” said Peter Clark, Board Chair of the Fredericton YMCA Endowment Fund. “This campaign takes that commitment a step further, investing in the next generation — our youth, who embody the spirit, strength, and promise of our community. We are profoundly thankful to everyone joining us in the campaign to bring this vision to life.” With this campaign, the YMCA of Fredericton is calling on individuals, families, and businesses to join in building a stronger, healthier, and more equitable future for local children and youth.

We will not maintain a copy of your proof of vaccination.
    • Non-members and visitors to the Wellness Facility will be required to show proof of vaccination along with a piece of government issued ID when they enter. Non-members, including regular drop-ins and parents of members, will have the option of signing up for a quick access card, which will allow you faster access to the facility in the future. Please note, if you do not already have a YMCA card, there will a $5+HST fee for a card.
    • If you have a child (12+) who is currently registered in a program that operates in a different facility, we ask that you come to the YMCA Welcome Desk, before the next scheduled meeting date, and provide your child’s proof of vaccination and consent to it being noted on their registration and membership. Alternatively, you will have to bring their proof of vaccination to each session, until it is verified at the YMCA. Once your child’s vaccination status is noted on their membership, you will not have to provide proof again for future registrations, as long as their membership remains active.
    • UPDATE: Children who were born between July 1, 2009 and December 1, 2009 may participate in activities provided they have received one vaccination and have until October 31, 2021 to receive their second dose.

Physical Distancing
The YMCA has implemented a strict physical distancing policy.  All individuals inside our facility will be expected to maintain a two-metre (six-foot) minimum distance between themselves and others.  Signage is visible throughout the facility.

Please Note:  The YMCA of Fredericton adheres to all recommendations from Public Health.  All guidelines are dependant on their recommendations and could change at any time due to their directive.  Individuals who have tested positive either with a rapid POCT or PCR lab-based test MUST isolate and cannot attend organized sport and recreation activities for 10 days after a positive test regardless of vaccination status.  After 10 days, an individual who tested positive must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without using fever-reducing medications before attending any organized sport and recreation activities.  Rapid tests (POCT) should not be used as a tool for participants to return to activities following a positive test.

Our Response To Covid-19 as of Friday, January 14, 2022

The YMCA of Fredericton’s main priority is the health of our staff, members and the broader community.  As of Friday, January 14, 2022 at 10:00 p.m., the YMCA of Fredericton is taking the necessary step to temporarily close our facility in compliance with the Province of New Brunswick’s Level 3 Public Health directive.  As per the current directive, we will re-open on Monday, January 31 at 5:30 a.m.  This closure will affect our Health, Fitness and Aquatics Centre at 570 York Street and all YMCA programming.

    Membership Fees

Please note that no fees for memberships will be processed until our facilities re-open and services resume.  As well, during our temporary closure, we are unable to process membership cancellations or hold requests.

    Stay With Us

Today, we are humbled and encouraged by the response of our members that have reached out to us with encouraging words and inquiries about donating their bi-weekly membership payment back during this, our third COVID-19 closure.  If you would like to participate in our #StayWithUs Campaign, please send an email to staywithus@ymcafredericton.org and indicate your wishes.  During the time of our closure, your bi-weekly base membership fee will become a donation to the YMCA and a donation receipt will be issued for your gift.

Child Care & After School Programs

YMCA Child Care is an essential service and will remain open during the Level Three Phase.  Any new guidelines set out by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development will be communicated directly to our families.

We will continue to use our website and social media channels to provide updates as the COVID-19 situation unfolds.  Please be assured that our leadership team is involved in active discussions to advocate for the re-opening of the YMCA for the physical and mental health of our members.

These are extraordinary circumstances and we thank you for your patience and understanding.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact info@ymcafredericton.org.
