Along for the Ride

Meet Lisa Wilsdon

My story probably resonates with many out there. From growing up the biggest kid in class, to being bullied for my size and made fun of, to always being self conscious in my own skin. I’ve endured rough relationships and turned to food to cope with that trauma. I’ve been there, I understand. By the time I had my 2nd baby via csection I was 260lb. It was Covid lockdown, and I was not going to live like that anymore. In Dec 2020, at 240lb I decided to get started at my local YMCA in St. Thomas, Ontario. There they had childcare for my infant of 3 month’s old and my 2 yo daughters so I could workout. I educated myself on nutrition and exercise and after a year I lost 40+ lb. My friends and family noticed my success and started asking for my “secret”. Of course there was none, it was pure consistency and the love of the gym as well as learning how to fuel my body properly.

I decided to get certified as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist to start a career in Fitness. I’m also working on my certifications to become a Pre/Postnatal fitness coach with aspirations to maybe become a specialized Pilates instructor too.

My passions are weightlifting, but overall I love seeing my clients reach their goals. I’ve helped friends as well as my clients here at the Y lose weight, build muscle, gain energy, and I absolutely love being in their corner cheering them on their journeys! You can find me at the Fredericton North YMCA location or by the pool teaching AquaFit smiling, sweating and singing as we have fun getting active!! Feel free to come by and see me for a free consultation if you have any questions about personal training. Shine On everyone!
