Dear Valued YMCA Member,
 
On behalf of the YMCA of Fredericton Board of Directors, I am providing this communication to inform you that our President and CEO, Jason Dickson, has announced his resignation from the YMCA, having accepted a new role as the CEO of Baseball Canada.
 
Michelle Paquin, CPA, CA, who currently serves as the Director of Finance within the organization will assume the position of Acting President and CEO until a new President and CEO has been recruited. Michelle and her Senior Leadership Team has the full support of both the Operating and Endowment Boards in this capacity, and they will collectively facilitate a smooth transition and maintain operational continuity.
 
The executive search process will begin in the coming days and we are expecting to fill this position in the Fall of 2021.
 
Since joining our YMCA in the Summer of 2016, Jason has modelled a transparent, respectful and progressive leadership style that has well served our YMCA community; this has been well evidenced in recent months as he has navigated our YMCA through unprecedented challenges arising from the pandemic. Jason and his team have continued to advance our Healthy People for Healthy Communities vision with strengthened membership recruitment and retention, partnership building and engagement, operational health and vitality, and risk mitigation and management.
 
While Jason will be missed in his role as President and CEO, we’re confident he’ll remain a long standing champion of the YMCA and the community it serves. We thank Jason for his valued service and impact on our YMCA community, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
