Melissa Babineau’s family has been attending YMCA programs for more than a decade, and through personal and family growth, the Y has offered her exactly what she needs.
“Joey [my husband] has been a member at the Y since it was at the old location, but after our first daughter was born I joined the gym as well,” she explained.
It’s the Y’s family friendly options that allowed Melissa’s family to grow and develop. Besides attending the Dance program, Melissa said the Y’s Swimming Lessons are an essential part of her family’s routine.
“When you live this close to water, it’s an important part of my children’s development,” she said.
And when Swimming Lessons are included in all Y memberships, it allows for a convenient skill building opportunity. Besides programming, the Child Minding is a must for the Babineaus. According to Melissa this program allows her to find time for herself.
“We hit the gym first thing in the morning and we get two hours to workout, shower and boom…it positively changes your day.”
Melissa explained how the YMCA morning crew has become an extended part of their family.
“I can say that the Y has definitely helped me. As a stay at home mom I rarely get any time. The two hours in the morning allow me to fill my cup and I can’t recommend the Y enough.”
