YMCA 50/50 Online Fundraiser

At the YMCA we are building healthy communities through the power of belonging.  As a charity for more than 162 years, the YMCA of Fredericton relies on donations by individuals, businesses and community partners.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, physical participation in community fundraisers is obstacle-laden; therefore, the YMCA is engaging in an online platform to better reach the Community during this time.

The YMCA of Fredericton has launched a 50/50 fundraiser, raising resources to give children, adults, seniors, and families access to YMCA programs and services that will enable them to learn, grow and reach their full potential. Support the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign for only a Toonie a week!  Draws take place every Friday at noon on a weekly basis.  Options for ticket pre-payment purchases range from 1 week, 4 weeks, 12 weeks, 24 weeks and 52 weeks.

This particular 50/50 is known as a “Progressive 50/50”.  This means that you increase your odds of winning by playing every week!  When you purchase a ticket for a number, that number goes into every draw for a full year regardless of how many draws you buy tickets for, so there’s a chance that your number can be drawn at any time during that year!  If you don’t make a purchase against your ticket and your number is drawn, you’re that draw’s ‘non-winner’ and the money gets put back into the pool and carried into the next draw.
