We are going to splash\, laugh and get some amazing exercise in the pool. We have four incredible Aqua instructors that would love for you to join them! \nAqua Fit with Wayne\, 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. \nAqua Zumba with Melissa\, 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. \nAqua Fit with Stephanie\, 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. \nAqua Zumba with Nicole\, 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. \nPre-registration is strongly encouraged\, and donations will be at the door upon entry. We will also be having a draw for a gift basket! \nRegister Here! \nWhat do you need to know? \n\nMinimum age is 10 years old\nBring a towel & a water bottle\nBring a friend to double the fun!\nGo to all 4 sessions if you have the energy! (But please make sure to register per class so we have an idea of space for people dropping in.)\n\nThis is a great way to stay fit\, have fun and have a final splash in the pool before the pool closes for the week for the yearly maintenance.

DESCRIPTION:The YMCA of Fredericton believes everyone should learn to enjoy the water safely. Learning to swim is a critical life skill\, and it is never too early or too late to start! That’s why we include swimming lessons with every membership. Teaching children\, teens\, and adults water skills and safety is one of the most important programs our YMCA can provide. It not only saves lives\, it builds confidence! \nBe water safe\, Be water smart! See our swimming lesson schedule for the summer session here: \nSwimming Programs – Summer ’22 – YMCA of Fredericton \nHere are some YMCA Water Safety Tips you can do to keep your family safe: \n\nAlways supervise children when they are near or in the water: in the pool or at the beach.\nBe careful when swimming near strong currents in the ocean. It only takes a second to be swept away.\nDo not allow children to dive in headfirst unless they are properly trained and the water is deep enough.\nEnsure non-swimmers are always wearing a PFD when near or in the water.\nMake sure children play with care and understand the dangers. Even the friendliest dunking game can be risky.\nFloatation devices aren’t a replacement for supervision. Make sure an adult is watching at all times.\nBe proactive and get trained on First Aid and CPR.\nIf you have a swimming pool\, make sure your children cannot get into the pool area by having proper fencing and a childproof gate.\nLifejackets have weight limits. Make sure your lifejacket or PFD is comfortable and light\, fits snug and does not ride above your ears. Not sure if it’s fitting properly? A YMCA lifeguard would be happy to check if for you.\nMake sure the entire family learns to swim! Together\, we can build a better Canada. \nPeace is an active state of being\, not a passive one. Together\, let’s build community.\n#Act for Peace. \nYMCA Peace Medal Nominations\nEach year\, YMCAs across Canada celebrate acts of peace by recognizing individuals and groups who\, without any special resources\, status\, wealth or position\, have demonstrated a commitment to building peace within their community or communities elsewhere in the world. During YMCA Peace Week\, which will take place from November 14 – 21\, 2020\, local peace-makers will receive special recognition and a medal.  Peacemakers are selected through a nomination process.
