FAQ Document

We are very excited to welcome you back to the Fredericton YMCA on Monday, June 8! Please note that before you come in, you will need a face mask to enter and travel through the building. You will also pass through a screening station where you will answer 3 COVID-19 related questions and have your temperature taken. Once you're inside, we ask that you respect physical distancing as much as possible.

Members do not have to wear a mask at all times when they are on the floor of our Wellness Centre, Fitness Classes or Pool — only when physical distancing cannot be guaranteed.

The Government of New Brunswick has made wearing masks in public buildings mandatory starting on Tuesday, June 9. For more information on this story, please check out this article from @CBCNews: https://bit.ly/2XzljO0

We appreciate your patience and co-operation while we all adjust to the changes that have been implemented. Some of these changes include:

  • All members are required to physically distance by a minimum of 2 metres/6 feet at all times while in the facility.
  • Water fountains are only available to fill water bottles, please remember to bring a re-fillable bottle from home.

May 28, 2020

The YMCA of Fredericton will delay its re-opening until Monday June 8, 2020, following the official announcement made by the Government of New Brunswick on May 28.  The province’s transition to the yellow phase of the Recovery Plan has been postponed by one week in light of the new cases of COVID-19 in the Campbellton/Zone 5 Region.

“It is disappointing, but the health and safety of our staff and members comes first.” said Jason Dickson, President and CEO of the YMCA of Fredericton.

The Y hopes to re-open on June 8 but must follow the direction of the government as the situation develops and will be set to resume operations when it is safe to do so.

Please continue to follow the YMCA online and on social media to receive the most up-to-date information on the re-opening.
